For us personally this issue boiled down to whether we know President Monson is a true prophet of God or not. It's a struggle though, because I know that many are hurt and wounded by these results. Those we know who are hurt by this outcome, please know our love and friendship for you has not changed. But nor has our clinging to the plan of happiness.

This has also been a tough issue for me--I know what I believe, and I do believe in following the prophet, but how far does belief extend into public policy? However, after wrestling with it for a while, I finally came to the conclusion that either the prophet is the Lord's mouthpiece or he isn't, and I've had so many things testify to me that he is and that this gospel is true that I just have to trust that God's ways are higher than my ways.
